There's so much to do at Arundel Museum! Discover how Arundel was covered by a warm Cretaceous sea millions of years ago and meet the creatures that thrived in it. This Museum is ideal for families to discover the history of the area too, with trails and activities available.

What we do

  • People have lived and worked around Arundel for thousands of years. On display in our modern gallery are objects that tell the story of the town.
  • The objects include pre-historic flint tools found at early settlements around the town. Homo heidelbergensis who lived in the area 500,000 years ago.
  • Roman floor tiles found at the site of a luxurious Roman villa, to the large WWII air raid siren from the roof of the Town Hall and a variety of colourful 20th century shop and business signs.
  • Learn how the port of Arundel was a crucial industrial hub in the last century and how the Castle Stables provided horses for the First World War effort and much more!
  • There is also a range of events and changing exhibitions at the Museum. Do refer to the website to find out more.
